Drifting backwards, forever after, arms weary and tattered.
A full moon lies ahead, separated by the strides I’ve led.
The swell below bears my reflection etched in shadow, lights’ deception.
A rushing stillness endured; my fear of motion left me blurred.
Drowning in my wake as the wind asphyxiates a throat crushed by its own fate.
A temporal passerby shrouded by the veil of black sky.
Every crest an infinite jest; every crest an infinite jest.
I can see no light save for the moon in sight; my arms’ thrashing breaks the silence of spite.
The light fades more every day; my soul dims with its decay.
As I’m subsumed by my lies, refulgent daggers pierce the sky, a cathedral for heaven’s eye.
But the show stops despite my pleading; a heart soon to cease its beating.
As the growing abyss takes my arms and hips, it’s hard to see a point to this.
Every crest an infinite jest; every crest an infinite jest.
Every crest an infinite jest; every crest an infinite jest.
